The influence of colours

Beige

A neutral colour, beige creates a peaceful atmosphere, conducive to relaxation. Taken directly from nature, beige originates from descriptions of natural wool or fabrics that haven’t been dyed nor bleached.

Tones of beige can range from off-white to light brown, even extending into greys or yellows, depending on their composition. Ecru, greige, putty, and sand tones are also part of the beige family. For understated decors, warm tones of beige are used as an alternative to white to brighten up a space.

Restful, yet bright, beige adds warmth and elegance to every room. Synonymous with simplicity and refinement, beige suits all trends, whether classic or modern, and can easily be used throughout an entire home. Beige is one of those colours that harmonize well with nearly every other colour.

Used in combination with other shades inspired by nature, such as camel, chestnut, or brown, it creates a modern, harmonious decor. For a softer, more refined feel, adding accents in saturated tones of grey, black or even burgundy creates a chic and luminous look.

What colours go well with beige?

A soft, calming colour, beige lends itself well to a wide variety of classic, rustic, and modern decors, as well as to natural materials, such as wood, linen, and rattan. Here are a few interesting combinations to help inspire your choice of colour and decor.

Beige + Chestnut + Red

Similar tones of beige and chestnut harmonize for a classic, timeless look. Add a few touches of red to energize this combination.

Beige + Grey + Yellow

Inspired by the Scandinavian trend, this colour combination is influenced by nature’s mineral tones. Elevate the look by adding a few yellow accessories.

Beige + Green

This colour combination harmonizes perfectly with wood or leather materials. Every tone of green goes well with beige. To create an elegant colour gradient, choose one shade of beige and add two different greens.

Beige + Blue

Blue is everywhere. And with so many different tones, you can choose from a multitude of combinations depending on your tastes. For example, blue and beige can be used to produce a peaceful space, reminiscent of the most relaxing seaside beach homes.
